Manchester City await news on Bacary Sagna after injury on France duty

Manchester City must wait for Bacary Sagna to return from international duty before assessing the extent of the injury he suffered with France.

Sagna, 33, picked up a suspected hamstring injury in giving away an early penalty when fouling Bulgaria's Georgi Milanov. France went on to win the World Cup qualifier 4-1, but Sagna was forced off in the 27th minute.

The right-back, who has started four Premier League games under Pep Guardiola, is expected to return to City on Saturday for scans.

"Before the penalty I accelerated and I think I've torn it a little bit," Sagna said after the game. "I'll have exams tomorrow.

"I do not know if it's serious."
